Origin of The Company
The History of Shock Wear is a story of trials and growth. Growing up sports have been a major part of my life. I have always loved football from a young age and started my first tackle football season at age 6. I realized that my athletic gifts could get me to go to the next level and play college football. Everything was going to plan until my senior year when I tore my ACL and Meniscus. Schools began to pull scholorship offers and by christmas time I had no offers to play college football.
Later that spring I recieved a call from a Coach at Stepthen F. Austin saying that they wanted me to come play for them. I was given a chance to achieve my deam goal of playing Divison 1 college football. After Redshirting my freshman year I was improving my talents tremendously and was looking forward to my sophmore year. this was until I re-tore my ACl and Meniscus going into the fall. After much thought and consideration I decided to medically retire from football and transfer to the University of Tennessee to become a regular student. While being at Tennessee and looking back at the past, the idea to create a new innovative Knee brace to futher help athletes with knee injuries came to life.

Once the idea of creating a new innovative knee brace with components like shock absorbers on each side to reduce stress on the knee joint. I needed insight from consumers that are also in the market for knee supporting products. The biggest thing I learned from taking with other athletes was how much the weight of the knee brace mattered to them. Customers want a lighter weight knee brace so playing with it on it feels less noticeable to the athlete. additonally it is more comfortable for the athlete to wear. After gathering this insight I decided to construct a brace frame that was made out of carbon fiber. a light weight yet very strong and durable material that would give consumers something that they wanted out of a knee brace

.
To say that this start-up was a walk through the park would be a lie. There were quite a few obsticle that I faced when creating shock wear. an issue that I faced was creating shock absorbers that where small enough so that they don’t add too much weigh. but strong enough to handle the force that is absorbed when making an athletic move.
Shock Wear has a set of core values that seperate us from the rest of the industry. Shock wear constantly aims to improve on its product and to never settle with “good”. We listen to consumers prefrences and adapts our product to fit the needs of what athletes need. Shock Wear is loyal to its customers and offers free servicing for all knee braces. along with a 90 day free trial so that if you are not satisfied with the product you can send it back and be fully emberced.
Preparing for the future
The future is very bright for Shock Wear and I am excited to see the advancements Shock Wear makes. In the next 3-6 months I am looking to partner with professional athletes and have them join the Shock Wear family. Partnering with professional athletes will help us increase our brand awareness which is crutial to our growth, and getting word of mouth about our product to consumers who do not yet know of Shock Wear. I also aim to go to numerous othopedic device conventions and have a booth set up to show Shock Wear to the public.
